An EU project will assist in working on keeping young people in rural areas!

Building capacities of young people in order to become a factor in creating local development policies is the goal of the project “Young people from rural areas for integration of Macedonia in EU”.
This project was promoted on 27/02/2018 in Skopje, as an EU funded project, implemented by four organisations. The Project Leader is the Macedonian branch of the Organisation on Linking Natural Values and People (CNVP) with headquarters in The Hague, the Netherlands, and partners in project implementation are the Rural Network of the Republic of Macedonia, the Rural Development Network of Croatia and the Rural Development Network of Serbia.

On the promotional event, it was stressed that the project shall focus on the young people from the Eastern and the South-eastern planning region in Macedonia, where the project implementing organisations will attempt to animate young people and organisations that work with young people to strengthen their capacities in youth activism, career building and capacity building for policy making at local level.
Daily migration of young people from the villages into the urban centres, and even out of the country is a serious problem. Through this project, needs of such young people will be addressed at higher level, and they will be supported in order to get closer to sources of ideas and initiatives, as well as to funds to meet their needs.

The project will be of 18 months duration, until June 2019.
