On 28 January 2025, the Rural Development Network of North Macedonia organised a national conference at Hotel Aleksandar Palace in Skopje on the topic “Participatory Stakeholder Dialogue for Strengthening the Position of Farmers in the Value Chain.” The event was held as part of the EU-funded project “Farm to Fork Academy for Green Western Balkans – Our Shared European Future.”
The conference brought together more than 60 participants, including farmers, representatives of civil society organisations, the National Extension Agency and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy. Its main purpose was to present the key findings of the National Report, developed through a consultative process with stakeholders from two value chains: grapes/wine and beekeeping/honey.
The event also served as a platform for open discussion and exchange among relevant stakeholders, focusing on possible solutions and ideas for improving the position of farmers within these two value chains.
In addition to project support, the preparation of the National Report was also supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy through the National Rural Network.
