The project focuses on strengthening the institutional capacities of the Balkan Rural Development Network (BRDN), enabling it to actively contribute to policy-making processes and become a responsible actor for inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development of rural areas in the Western Balkans.

General Objective
The general objective of the project is for BRDN to become an active contributor to decision-making processes related to rural development, as well as a responsible and accountable actor for inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development of rural areas in the Western Balkans.
Specific Objective
To strengthen the institutional capacities of BRDN so that it can adequately respond to the needs of rural communities in the region and represent their voice at regional and European level.

Component 1: Organisational Development of BRDN
• Strengthened structures for the implementation of BRDN’s operational activities
• Improved organisational capacities of the national networks that are members of BRDN
Component 2: Advocacy and Lobbying
• Strengthened BRDN capacities in advocacy and lobbying
• Joint regional advocacy and lobbying events organised
Component 3: Gender Equality
• Developed skills for gender mainstreaming, advocacy and lobbying for gender equality
Component 4: Exchange of Experiences and Good Practices
• Improved internal and external communication of BRDN
• Strengthened promotion of BRDN at international level.
