BThe Bike Friendly standard is a modern tool that supports sustainable tourism practices, cycling tourism and the development of green mobility. The Rural Development Network provides certification, training and support for facilities and destinations that wish to become “bike friendly”.
The services include:
Capacity assessment – analysis of infrastructure, services and potential for adapting to the needs of cycling tourists.
Implementation of standards – practical guidance for improving the offer, including safe bicycle storage, tools, information, customer services and other relevant facilities.
Certification – awarding the Bike Friendly label to tourism facilities, hospitality providers, municipalities and organisations.
Training and consultations – support for staff, marketing techniques and the development of an improved tourism offer.
Promotion and marketing – positioning Bike Friendly facilities within national and regional tourism networks.
This standard increases the visibility, credibility and attractiveness of rural destinations, attracts new groups of visitors and contributes to the development of sustainable tourism.
