One of the objectives of USAID’s Community Development Program is to demonstrate that equitable and sustainable rural development is possible through the cooperation of all local stakeholders who will participate in identifying and prioritizing the real problems of the community and together will design and implement sustainable solutions in response to these problems.

Part of the target 18 municipalities of the Program are the municipalities of Bosilovo, Vasilevo, Novo Selo, and Strumica which belong to the territory of LAG Belasica Ograzden. Therefore, representatives of the Rural Development Network of North Macedonia and LAG Belasica Ograzden met with the Mayor of Bosilovo – Risto Manchev, the Mayor of Vasilevo – Slave Andonov, and the Mayor of Strumica – Kostadin Kostadinov.

USAID’s Community Development Program was also the focus of the meetings with some private sector companies in the region. The ways to involve this sector in the activities of the Program, as well as the expected results, objectives, and opportunities, were some of the topics discussed.

During the meetings, the need to enhance the cooperation between the municipalities, the private sector actors as well as all other stakeholders in the community to improve the rural development was especially emphasized.
