On January 28, 2025, the Rural Development Network of North Macedonia (RDN of NM) successfully organized a National Conference on "Participatory Dialogue with Stakeholders to Strengthen the Position of Farmers in the Value Chain" at the Aleksandar Palace Hotel in Skopje. The event was part of the Farm to Fork Academy for a Green Western Balkans – Our Shared European Future project, funded by the European Union.
Over 60 participants joined the conference, including farmers, representatives from civil society organizations, the National Extension Agency, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Economy (MAFWE). The conference aimed to present the key findings from the National Report, developed as a result of a consultative process with stakeholders from the grapes/wine and beekeeping/honey value chains. The goal was also to foster active discussion and dialogue among stakeholders to find solutions and ideas to improve the position of farmers in these two value chains.
In addition to the project’s support, the preparation of the National Report also received assistance from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Economy through the National Rural Network.
