The Barta industrial zone in Bogdanci, which is located on the territory of LAG Bojmija, will receive a modern sewage system, which will improve the management of waste water in the industrial zone and provide better living conditions for the local population.

As part of USAID's Community Development Program, investment will be made in the construction of a new part of the sewage system through the cooperation of the local community - the municipality, the public utility company, local businesses, civil society organizations and local residents. The partnership is made official by signing a Memorandum of Understanding in the municipality of Bogdanci.

The Memorandum was signed by representatives of the Rural Development Network of North Macedonia with the partner LAG Bojmija and TURAN Ivan DOOEL Import-Export Bogdanci, NEOKOM AD Skopje, Rive Shped DOOEL Bogdanci, CSO "Center for Environment and Sustainable Development", Municipality of Bogdanci and PE "Communal Cleanliness" - Bogdanci, that will be involved in the implementation of the joint community action.

The expected results of the implementation of this project initiative are:

  • Increased engagement of the business community in identifying and solving problems in the community
  • New approach in financing the established priorities
  • Maintaining a clean environment through the construction of a system for collecting and draining waste water
  • Creating a new partnership between community members
  • Improved the infrastructure of the industrial zones in Bogdanci
